Shari Polis

After graduating from the University of Michigan, Shari Polis lived in New York City where she directed and choreographed musicals for kids of all ages for 2 decades. Shari formed the Performing Arts program at Hannah Senesh Community Day School in Brooklyn. At Hannah Senesh, Shari taught dance and drama to Kindergarten through 8th graders and directed the school's musicals for 17 years. She was a teaching artist with NYC's leading children’s theaters Tada! and City Lights for 10 years. Shari founded her own dance and theater company in Brooklyn, the UpBring Dance Company, which she ran for 12 years. UpBring's 100 dancers traveled the East Coast performing Shari's works. Shari's NYC theater credits include The Vagina Monologues at the acclaimed off Broadway theater Soho Playhouse, Lysistrata in the international touring company, and The Minotaur off Broadway. TV credits include Del Taco commercials, MTV’s The Life and Times of Milo, and VH1 promo commercials,. She can be seen currently dancing on tv in the national Cheerios commercial #behearthealthy. Shari is the Performing Arts teacher at the Boulder JCC, teaches dance in BVSD schools, choreographs for Reel Kids, and teaches private dance lessons here in beautiful Boulder, CO.
