Maggie Foster is a contemporary choreographer and dance educator currently located in Boulder, CO. She is originally from Westchester, NY, where she trained and performed with the Westchester Ballet Company. She received additional pre-professional training and performance opportunities with Alonzo King LINES Ballet, Spellbound Ballet (IT), The Ailey School, Boston Ballet, Ellison Ballet, Colorado Ballet, Movement Invention Project, and Karole Armitage Gone! Dance. Maggie completed a BFA in contemporary dance performance from The Boston Conservatory at Berklee (MA). She performed as a freelance contemporary dancer, taught, and choreographed in Boston for nearly a decade, and furthered her education by becoming a comprehensively certified Pilates instructor in 2017.
Maggie is currently an award-winning youth choreographer and has created dozens of student works throughout her career. Maggie's commissioned contemporary works for Koltun Ballet Boston (MA) won top three at Youth America Grand Prix semi-finals in the contemporary ensemble category in 2022 and 2024, most recently winning first place for her piece "Catalyst." Her personal projects have been showcased by The Boston Conservatory at Berklee and Avante Garde Denver, and her choreography continues to place competitively throughout Colorado. Currently, you can find her as a competitive dance judge for the Inferno Dance national tour, educating and creating in Colorado, and running a small business as a Licensed Massage Therapist in Boulder. Maggie approaches teaching from the perspective of building healthy and happy artists.
