This year’s Storybook Ballet presents two wonderful stories about sharing, community, and acceptance.
Stone Soup is a European folk tale in which hungry strangers convince the people of a town to each share a small amount of their food in order to make a meal that everyone enjoys.
“The Ugly Duckling” is a fairy tale by Danish poet and author Hans Christian Andersen. Mama Duck is proud when her six ducklings hatch from their eggs, but one duckling does not look like the others. This ballet tells the story of the little bird who was treated cruelly by everyone around her, until one day, she discovers she has matured into a beautiful swan—the most beautiful bird of all—and finds new family.
Featuring live music performed by the Blue Spruce String Quartet.
