Give The Gift Of Dance ❤️
Dear Boulder Ballet Community,
As I reflect on the last year, there is one common thread amongst our dancers, donors, families, and advocates. We pulled through. Due to the generosity of our community, we were able to save The Nutcracker, produce Boulder Ballet’s inaugural film festival, commission choreography from some of the nation’s most up and coming choreographers, and remain open for in-person classes to continue to nurture the love of ballet. I graciously thank you for each and every one of your gifts of time, talent, and treasure to help carry us through 2021.
Each day, I come to our home at The Dairy Arts Center and see dancers dedicated to their craft despite 18 months of pandemic. The passion for our art form has continued to grow, sparked by the challenges of the past. The struggles of carrying on as an artist in these times are real and rather than giving up, I see our dancers dig in their heels with grit and enthusiasm. There is true growth happening within our walls. The impact that dance provides goes far beyond rehearsal, choreography and performance but brings **hope, health, and well-being** that continues to take place every day here at Boulder Ballet.
Our future is bright. Looking ahead, we are delighted to continue to raise awareness for diversity in the field highlighting Black Voices of Dance in February with choreographers Sidra Bell (first Black woman to create work for NYC ballet this past fall), Gregory Dawson, Amy Hall Garner and Lance Hardin. We will continue our film festival as a new tradition spotlighting all genres in a fantastic week of dance for the camera in March. Classes are expanding to offer new styles and our outreach program is off to a wonderful start serving Title 1 schools in six counties throughout the region. Boulder Ballet is honored to continue to provide these opportunities to our community when we seem to need it the most.
During this holiday season, please join me and my staff and consider supporting the Boulder Ballet by giving the gift of dance. Together, we can move into 2022 and continue to make a true impact right here in our own backyard. Please consider making your gift today.
Thank you for being such a vital part of our dance community. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year.
