Boulder Ballet School

The Boulder Ballet School (BBS) provides ballet training for all ages, pre-school through adult, in an atmosphere of creative excellence. As a professional-track ballet school, BBS challenges students dedicated to pursuing dance as a career but also welcomes those who dance purely for enjoyment.

Spring enrollments are currently open. New students are welcome to enjoy a free introduction class at our school. If you want to set up a free class or have any questions please email info@boulderballet.org.

The fees listed are per semester. Creative Movement and Pre-Ballet fees marked with an * will be discounted at registration due to the Martin Luther King holiday.  For all students, there is an annual registration fee of $40, plus $20 for each additional student that will be added to your tuition at registration checkout.

LEVELED CLASSES 
Students must complete each level before moving to the next. Advancement is determined by the teacher. Starting with level 3A, we highly recommend that your dancer take all the classes available at their level to ensure proper development. The ALL CLASSES rate reflects a discount for taking all of the classes offered in a level.

*Special classes: character, contemporary, and acting. Level 5 will learn their contemporary piece for the BB2 spring performance. Levels 6-7 will learn Paquita during the first and second session for the BB2 spring performance. Any dancer who wishes to perform in BB2, must be registered for the Monday class. 

PAS DE DEUX CLASS 
Partnering class for levels 6 and 7, by audition or invitation. Class size is limited.

Contemporary dance combines elements of many styles and techniques of dance. With roots in ballet, movement styles explore elements of modern, jazz, and more.

Offers classical training geared toward the male technique. If new to ballet, schedule private lessons with Lance Hardin to catch up.

BEGINNING TEEN BALLET
Designed for students ages 11+ who are new to ballet and want classical training that will prepare them to integrate into regular student-based classes.

ADULT DROP-IN BALLET CLASSES


Drop-in classes are offered for dancers ages 12 through adult. No pre-registration is required. Payment is by the class or multiple class card. Dancers in levels 5,6 or 7 who are enrolled in all their classes may take Saturday adult drop-in classes for $10.

PAYMENT PLAN
All tuition must be paid at time of registration unless a four-month payment plan is set up in advance. Payments of the first month and registration fee are due at the time of registration. Monthly payments must be paid on the 1st or 15th of the month. Post-dated checks or credit card payments are accepted. There is a $15 service fee for all returned checks and invalid credit cards. TUITION ASSISTANCE
Boulder Ballet has limited funds available for existing students who need temporary assistance due to unforeseen financial distress. It is the policy and desire of Boulder Ballet to provide tuition assistance based upon a student’s financial need and aptitude for dance. Applications are due December 7, 2021, for the Spring 2022 session. Thanks to individual and corporate donations, Boulder Ballet is pleased to offer a limited number of full and partial scholarships for Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC). This scholarship is part of Boulder Ballet’s commitment to increasing diversity, equality, and inclusion in the arts. The BIPOC scholarship application can be found at http://boulderballet.org/bipoc-scholarship-application/. The deadline for the Spring 2022 session is December 7, 2021.

REFUND POLICY
A partial refund will be given for the remaining tuition if a student wishes to discontinue classes before the third class. All requests must be made in writing to the registrar. Registration fees are non-refundable. Refunds will not be given if classes move to all virtual due to COVID-19 safety mandates.
