February 16–18, 2018
This season’s production of Stepping Out will again feature the “highly successful collaboration of original experimental music, stimulating choreography, and company dancer input and improvisation” (Jane Werle, Presenting Denver) that was the hallmark of the 2017 show. Michael Shulze, Teaching Associate Professor, Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver, is returning in 2018 to compose a new piece of electronic music and collaborate with Amy Earnest and dancer/Associate Artistic Director Lance Hardin as choreographers.
Storybook Ballet – Snow White

Snow White is based on the German fairytale by the Brothers Grimm. It tells the classic story of the princess and her stepmother, the evil queen, who is envious of Snow White’s beauty. This production will also feature the well-known cast of characters including the seven dwarfs, the huntsman, and the handsome prince as well as the magic mirror and poisoned apple. Snow White is choreographed by Amy Earnest and features the students of Boulder Ballet School.
May 18–20, 2018
One of the oldest continually performed ballets, Giselle is about a peasant girl who dies of a broken heart after discovering her lover is betrothed to another. The Wilis, a group of supernatural women who dance men to death, summon Giselle from her grave. They target her lover for death, but Giselle’s great love frees him from their grasp. Music by French composer Adolphe Adam (1806-1856). Choreography after Marius Petipa.
