Ana Claire is the Director of the Boulder Ballet School, which has more than tripled in size under her direction. Although born in Boulder, Ana grew up on a ranch near Fairplay, Colorado. At the age of 8 she saw American Ballet Theater perform Swan Lake and fell in love with the art of ballet. In an extraordinary gift of support, Ana's mother then drove her to ballet classes in Denver throughout her childhood. Ana has studied ballet with Maxine Williamson, Fernando Schaffenberg, Milenko Banovich, Barbara Demaree and Larry Boyette. She has performed with Fort Worth Ballet, Fort Worth Opera, David Taylor Dance Theater, Aladdin Theater, Boulder's Dinner Theater, Jan Justis Dance Company, and Third Law Dance Theater, among others. Ana was a principal ballerina with Boulder Ballet for many years, and was twice voted "Boulder's Best" by the Daily Camera. She has produced, directed, and choreographed fifteen Storybook Ballets, all with original music, scenery and costumes created in collaboration with local artists, and co-choreographed the 1998, '99, and all productions since 2001 of Boulder Ballet's Nutcracker. Ana is also the Director of Boulder Ballet's acclaimed outreach program Steps in Time which has been performed at numerous schools throughout the Boulder/Denver area. Ana studied dance pedagogy at Texas Christian University, attended the teacher training workshop with former New York City Ballet principal Jillana, and has over twenty-five years of teaching experience. She is a passionate teacher, dedicated to helping students achieve technical excellence while nurturing their individual artistry, and many of her students have gone on to professional careers in dance. Ana lives in Boulder with her husband Peter Davison, and children Alexander and Claire.

Peter Davison brings 35-years of diverse performing experience to the Boulder Ballet. His childhood idols were Alexander Calder and Batman, influences that led to training in visual art, juggling, and dance. While a teenager, Peter began his professional career street performing in Los Angeles, and as a variety artist for Hollywood films. He moved to Boulder in 1980. Peter studied ballet with Larry Boyette, Ana Claire, Barbara Demaree, Finis Jhung and Donald Mahler; modern dance with Danelle Helander, and tap with Susan Hadley and Lynn Dally, among others. In 1982 Peter became a founding member of the trio Airjazz with whom he appeared at venues such as the Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, New Zealand International Festival of the Arts, BAM, and the Hong Kong Arts Festival. Peter has also been a member of David Taylor Dance Theater, Jan Justis Dance Company, Kim Robards Dance, 3rd Law Dance/Theater, and has performed principal roles with Boulder Ballet since 1987. He has performed solo shows at the Carmel/California Performing Arts Festival, Cincinnati Playhouse, and Utah State Arts Tour, and has appeared as a featured soloist on the CBS, BBC and Fox television networks. Peter has received numerous awards and grants including the Arts Innovation Award from the Colorado Federation of the Arts, and the Performance Fellowship from the Colorado Council on the Arts. Peter has choreographed works for several Colorado-based companies. His major works include An American in Paris, Bella Luna, Diana Krall Songs, Grounded, and Stravinsky's L'Histoire du Soldat.

Jennifer Aiken trained at the Arvada Center with Christina Noel, Eve Paris, and Lisi Elsey; at Colorado College with Debra Mercer, and at the Boston Ballet Summer Program. Jennifer has performed at the American Collage Dance Festival, at Colorado College (where she earned a BA in History/Political Science) and with the California Ballet, David Taylor Dance Theater, Arvada Civic Ballet, and 3rd Law Dance/Theater. Jennifer has danced soloist and principal roles in numerous productions with Boulder Ballet since 2001, including the Sugar Plum Fairy and Grown-up Clara in The Nutcracker, Izzy in Bella Luna, the Princess in L'Histoire du Soldat, the Fox in The Little Prince, and the female lead in the La Esmeralda and Le Corsaire pas de deux. Jennifer is also an accomplished costumer and has created numerous costumes for Boulder Ballet and other companies.

Katelyn Burgess is from Durango, Co where she trained with the Durango
Ballet Academy and Dance in the Rockies and spent summers at the Colorado
Ballet, the Jillana School, and San Diego Academy of Ballet. Katelyn graduated from the University of Utah in 2006 with a B.F.A. in ballet,
including an emphasis in character dance, performance, and teaching, as well
as a minor in history. While studying at the University of Utah, Katelyn
had the opportunity to perform various works by Bené Arnold, Sharee Lane,
Maureen Laird, Conrad Ludlow, and Rick Wacko. She has toured with the
Character Dance Ensemble in Nevada, Oregon, England, Canada and China, and
choreographed for Ballet Showcase. Katelyn has danced various soloist roles
with Boulder Ballet, including the pas de deux in Robert North's Light
Fandango. This is her second season with Boulder Ballet.

Lance Hardin, Co-Artistic Director of Avant-Garde School of Dance, is a native of Chicago. Mr. Hardin trained at the Ruth Page Foundation School of Dance, where he studied with Larry Long, and at the Academy of Houston Ballet. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Ballet from Indiana University, where he studied under the direction of Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux, Patricia McBride and Jacques Cesbron. Mr. Hardin has danced with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, North Carolina Dance Theatre, and the Milwaukee Ballet Company. He has performed principal roles by world-renowned choreographers such as George Balanchine, Paul Taylor, Dwight Rhoden, Nacho Duato, William Forsythe, Michael Pink, and Alonzo King. Since relocating to the Denver area Mr. Hardin has performed as a guest artist with Ballet Nouveau Colorado and Kim Robards Dance, as well as the Springfield Ballet Company and the Yoko Kasai Ballet Studio in Japan. Mr. Hardin has taught ballet for the past 14 years and holds numerous choreographic credits. He has served as Ballet Director at Elite Dance Academy and Dance Intensity. After performing with Boulder Ballet as a guest artist last season, Mr. Hardin is excited to join the company as a Principal for the 2007-08 season.

Jamie Johnson was raised in South Dakota and began her training under the direction of Christine Kirk, formerly of the Paris Opera Ballet. She has studied at summer programs such as Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Alonzo King's LINES Ballet, Ballet West Conservatory, Jacob's Pillow, Cleveland/San Jose Ballet, and Milwaukee Ballet. She was a scholarship student at the University of Utah where she performed with the nationally touring companies of Utah Ballet and the Character Dance Ensemble. Jamie graduated cum laude with a B.F.A. in Ballet and a B.A. in English. Upon graduation, she danced with Sacramento Ballet, Ballet Pacifica, and Ohio Dance Theatre. She has enjoyed dancing roles from the classical repertoire as well as others created especially for her, such as the Sugar Plum Fairy and Dew Drop in The Nutcracker, Zulma in Giselle, Psyche in Psyche and Eros, and Carmen in Carmen. Jamie is looking forward to her first season with Boulder Ballet.

Rob Kuykendall began dancing at the age of 12 in his home state of Indiana at the Evansville Dance Theatre. He trained at the Alabama School of Fine Arts with Sonia Arova and Thor Sutowski, and upon graduation became a company member of Alabama Ballet. Under the direction of Wes Chapman he danced soloist and corps roles in ballets such as Carmina Burana, Romeo and Juliet, Dracula, and The Nutcracker. Rob moved to Colorado to join Colorado Ballet, where he danced in Stars and Stripes, Rodeo, and the male lead in Coppélia. He then danced with Orlando Ballet under the direction of world renowned dancer Fernando Bujones, delighting audiences in Funny Guy from Troy Games, Peasant Pas de Deux from Giselle, and the world premiere of Bujones' Spartacus. Rob has performed as a guest artist with Boulder Ballet on several occasions, and is happy to be joining the company as a Principal this season. Rob is also on the faculty of Boulder Ballet School, where his advanced male students are gaining recognition through awards, scholarships and apprenticeships with major ballet companies throughout the nation.

Nicole Miller, originally from Chicago, trained in England with the London Junior Ballet, and summer courses including the Royal Ballet and the English National Ballet. She was accepted into the three-year college, Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, England, where she gained her dance diploma. While living abroad, Nicole performed with the National Youth Ballet and the London Junior Ballet at Royal Albert Hall and Sadler's Wells, under the direction of Wayne Sleep and Harold King. Nicole joined the Illinois Ballet, where she performed many classic ballets and was invited to perform with the National Ballet of Panama in their national theater in 2004. Moving to Colorado in 2005, Nicole performed with the David Taylor Dance Theater, and as a guest artist in Boulder Ballet's production of The Little Prince. Nicole joined Boulder Ballet in 2006, dancing the roles of Sugar Plum Fairy in Nutcracker, Milo in An American in Paris, and principal roles in contemporary ballets such as Diana Krall Songs, Light Fandango, and Percussive.

Elvira Stewart began dancing as a child at Ballet Arts/Boulder Ballet. She trained at numerous summer programs including Pacific Northwest Ballet and Vail International Dance Festival, both on scholarship, and was an apprentice with Colorado Ballet. She performed soloist roles with Boulder Ballet, then trained and toured for two years with Rudra Bejart Ballet in Lausanne, Switzerland. Elvira has been a principal dancer with Boulder Ballet since 2003, dancing roles such as Grown-up Clara in The Nutcracker, Ina in Bella Luna, the Snake in The Little Prince, and Lise in An American in Paris. Elvira is on the faculty of Boulder Ballet School, has choreographed works for Boulder Ballet and Boulder Ballet II, and co-produced, choreographed and danced in Pandora's Muse, an evening of dance, theater and film at the Dairy Center for the Arts.

Reneé Ford began her training in Northwest Ohio at The Toledo Ballet School and attended summer programs with BalletMet, Fort Wayne Ballet, and Charleston Ballet Theatre. She earned her BFA in ballet from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio. She danced professionally with Channel Islands Ballet under Yves de Bouteiller; performing roles in Balanchine's Valse Fantastie, Bouteiller's Firebird and Saint- Leon's Pas de Six de Vivandiere. Internationally, Reneé danced with Cisne Negro, located in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In addition, she danced with Columbia City Ballet in South Carolina, Contemporary Ballet Theatre, South Carolina, and Epiphany Dance, a modern company located in Nashville Tennessee. This is Reneé's first season with Boulder Ballet.

Rachel Haber was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. She trained at The Academy of Colorado Ballet on scholarship under the direction of Inessa Plekhanova, Meelis Pakri, and Kim Robards. In June of 2003, Rachel graduated from the academy with honors and joined the company as an apprentice. She performed in numerous ballets such as Dracula, The Nutcracker, Don Quixote, Swan Lake, Peter Pan, and Rubies. The following summer Rachel was invited to the Cerri Ballet Academy in Tokyo as a guest artist. Rachel has also danced with Ballet Austin, Burklyn Ballet Theatre, and Denver Ballet. Currently, she is studying at PIMA Medical Institute to become a physical therapist assistant. This is Rachel's second season with Boulder Ballet.

Kathryn Wagner, a native of Colorado, has trained at the Arvada Center with Christina Noel-Adcock, Eve Paris, and Lisi Elsey. Kathryn has performed in numerous productions with the Arvada Center Dance Theater, including the title role in the 1999 production of Peter Pan, as well as on outreach to such places as the Children’s Museum, Cherry Creek Arts Festival, and local elementary schools. In collaboration with Christina Noel-Adcock, Kathryn performed the title role in Peter and the Wolf on outreach to Lone Tree elementary schools in 2007. Kathryn is a co-artistic director and choreographer for the Arvada Center Dance Theater, and an instructor for the Arvada Center's Dance Department and summer integrated arts camps. In addition to teaching at the Arvada Center, Kathryn is an instructor for Boulder Ballet School. A graduate of Regis University with an elementary education license, Kathryn is a third grade teacher at Eisenhower Elementary in Boulder. This is Kathryn's third season with Boulder Ballet.

Alex Davison is an honor roll junior at Boulder High School. He began studying karate at the age of four, eventually earning a second-degree black belt. A member of a dancing family, Alex began his formal dance training with Boulder Ballet at the age of eight. He has won first place awards in both the junior and senior boy's divisions at the Denver Ballet Guild Scholarship Competition, and has attended Pacific Northwest Ballet, American Ballet Theater, and Kaatsbaan summer programs on scholarship. He has danced soloist roles in numerous Boulder Ballet, Boulder Ballet II and Storybook Ballet productions. Alex is also an accomplished juggler and trombonist.

Zoé Henrot is a senior on the honor roll at Fairview High School. She is part of the International Baccalaureate program at Fairview and plans to study psychiatry in the future. Starting at Louisville Montessori School at the age of three, Zoé has been dancing for fourteen years now. Zoé has attended summer intensive programs with the Kansas City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and Joffrey Ballet and has preformed in various productions including The Nutcracker, Alice in Wonderland, Boulder Ballet II, The Little Prince, C'est la Vie, The Wizard of Oz, The Emperor's (Really) New Clothes, and An American in Paris. The roles she most enjoyed were those of the White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland in 2006 and that of Tailor's Wife in The Emperor's (Really) New Clothes in 2007. In her spare time, Zoé likes to make jewelry, read, spend time with friends, scrapbook, sew, and snuggle with her cats, Toki and Jasmine.

Jordan Richardson is an 18 year-old senior at Fairview High School. She is an honor roll student who aspires to dance professionally and teach elementary school children in the future. Jordan has danced with Boulder Ballet for 15 years. Some of her favorite roles include the Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland, and Arabian in The Nutcracker. This past summer she attended the Joffrey South Workshop in Georgia and American Repertory Ballet's Princeton Ballet School in New Jersey both on merit scholarship. She would like to thank her instructors at Boulder Ballet and her family for all of their encouragement and support.

Jacob Taylor began dancing at age nine in Peter Davison’s Boyz Dance class. Shortly thereafter he began his formal ballet training at Boulder Ballet School. Jacob has also performed in Boulder Dinner Theatre’s productions of Fiddler on the Roof, Gypsy and The Music Man in which he performed the title role. Jacob is a member of his high school’s select choir and was awarded “Best Vocal Percussionist” in a Colorado high school accapella group for 2007. He has been awarded scholarships to Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts Camp, Kansas City Ballet Summer Intensive, Kaatsbaan Extreme Ballet and American Ballet Theater Summer Intensive (where he danced the principal role of Basilio in Don Quixote.) Jacob attends Nederland High School where he is an honor roll junior.

Kit Kyle is from Winnetka, Illinois. He played many sports as a youth, including
hockey and speed skating, were he won a national championship. He was a US
National Cycling Team member for 5 years, living and training at the Olympic
Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He participated in several world
championships, winning 2 silver medals. He began studying ballet with Boulder
Ballet in 2004. Kit has appeared in Boulder Ballet productions of The
Nutcracker, L' Histoire du Soldat, Premieres, and An American in Paris, as well as
Storybook Ballet's Wizard of Oz. He has also danced for Blue Moon Dance
Company, appearing in several productions including Torque and Moving On.

Peter Davison has performed as a principal and character dancer with Boulder Ballet since 1987. His classical roles have included Franz in Coppelia, Albrecht in Giselle, Don Jose in Carmen, Prince Igor in Firebird, Romeo and Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet, Catalabutte in Sleeping Beauty, and Drosselmeyer in Nutcracker. As a multi-disciplinary performer Peter has had the opportunity to study and perform with a wide variety of artists over the years including mimes, magicians, jugglers, actors, and physical comedians of all kinds. Peter teaches Boyz Dance, ballet and physical theater at the Boulder Ballet School.
