Peter Davison's choreography draws from an international career as a multi-disciplinary performer. His works abound with colorful characters, humor, pathos, and a masterful use of objects. Comédia will feature Davison's contemporary commedia dell' arte ballet Bella Luna (2004), and the exciting premiere of a new work. Consisting of the most advanced students of the Boulder Ballet School, BB2 demonstrates the depth and quality of their training in this performance. The concert will include group and solo works in both modern and ballet created especially for BB2, as well as classical pas de deux and solo variations prepared for ballet competitions. Boulder Ballet's fourth-annual "thank you" to the city of Boulder for its support of dance, with additional performances in Broomfield and Aurora. This family-friendly repertoire concert features excerpts from the season along with new works, in classical and contemporary styles. Come early with a picnic, enjoy a beautiful summer evening with the ballet, and then marvel at the spontaneous dancing by children from the audience after the show!
