Dairy Arts Center – Gordon Gamm Theater
One of the oldest continually performed ballets, Giselle is about a peasant girl who dies of a broken heart after discovering her lover is betrothed to another. The Wilis, a group of supernatural jilted brides who dance men to death, summon Giselle from her grave. They target her lover for death, but Giselle’s great love frees him from their grasp.
Music by French composer Adolphe Adam (1806–1856). Choreography after Marius Petipa.
