Boulder Ballet performed excerpts from “Cirque D’Amour” at Ballet Builders 2009 on March 14 and 15, at the Dicapo Opera Theater in New York City."A bit of fancy closed the evening. Peter Davison, utilizing his past as a circus and street performer, had his dancers fully and playfully explore various props, most inventively a two legged ladder on which a man and a woman climbed, suspended themselves, and toyed with weight, balance, and space. Like the best of the pieces presented, it fulfilled what it set out to do and then some."
Theater SceneBallet Builders is an annual showcase presenting the works of talented emerging and established choreographers to audiences in New York City. Works are selected in auditions before distinguished ballet professionals. Participants in Ballet Builders gain important exposure to the New York dance community, artists, administrators and critics.
Choreographer Peter Davison drew on his background in movement and object manipulation to create “Cirque D’Amour,” a singular dance/theater work that premiered at The Dairy Center for the Arts in February, 2008.

In October, Boulder Ballet opened its season of in-school residency programs at Boulder Community School of Integrated Studies. The residency workshops were taught by Shana Cordon, a dynamic actor and movement artist.
Feedback from the school -
"It is my honor to write this recommendation for Shana Cordon. The activities she led were engaging and educational. The kids loved everything! Shana orchestrated a variety of drama and dance experiences maintaining a high energy level throughout. She has outstanding organizational skills and is able to channel the energy of the students in constructive ways. It was a very productive week and one that students will fondly remember for a long time. Shana was a talented and capable presenter and we will miss her very much as she moves on to other schools. She had a rare ability to bring students to a new level of dance and movement, inspiring them to express feelings, characters, and situations, all in a context that was appealing to both boys and girls - young and old!"
